Controversial opinion time! Ok, ready? Stevia can just GO. Like, away. And why is it in everything suddenly without warning? I taste you, stevia, and I’m not here for it.
Fruit is not dessert. It is a snack, a side item, an accompaniment, but try and pass it to me like you’re pretending it’s as good as chocolate cake? We are not friends.
There are NO "BAD" FOODS! Everything in moderation including moderation. If you want to eat the chocolate chip cookie or bowl of ice cream do it and enjoy it while you are eating it! Food should not be demonized.
Salted butter is superior for baking (and slathering on bread). Depending on my mood, if I see no salt butter listed as a recipe ingredient, I'll rebelliously pass it by.
I'm nearly positive I'd heard of a Galentine's gfit exchange, but it definitely feels like I'm learning about it for the first time and wow, I am so on board starting next year. And real-life, off-the-internet-good is truly the best kind of good and it sounds like the Bakehouse is shaping up to be that for so many!!
When I bake, I am using the ingredients called for in the recipe. No substitutions to cut calories. Of course, if I am baking for someone who has a food allergy, I will seek a recipe specific for that. Sugar is sugar, and honey is not healthier than sugar. Everything in moderation.
I think olives are all caps, DISGUSTING. When I was on the mix shift at a bakery and had to open a new giant container of Kalamata’s, I wanted to die. Shove an olive at me and I will run screaming.
Controversial food opinion: Soup is okay as an appetizer or as a meal when you're sick, but otherwise, most soups are rarely satisfying and rarely do they constitute a meal.
Controversial Opinion: you do not need to have a kitchen table for eating good food and connecting with family. 20 years in the military and working 12 on 12 off shifts and working holidays, with three boys, always moving and driving and taking them to all their activities, the car, the sofa whatever was available, never took away from the moment with them or the food.
Controversial opinion: "Improvised cooking is way easier than baking." NAH! I love the rules of baking. I love knowing that if I measure the flour and yeast and all the things and follow the directions, my baked good is gonna turn out the way it should. Throwing stuff together for a quick supper is usually a disaster for me..... :)
Controversial opinion: the trend to put cookies in yogurt to make “cheesecake” is weird. I’m sure it tastes good - umm cookies! … but if I want cheesecake I’m going to have the real thing.

My controversial opinion - bacon is overrated. Thanks for highlighting Natasha, excited to get my hands on this cookbook!
I prefer iced coffee in winter!

Ketchup with Mac n cheese is the best. Also ketchup and cottage pie

My most controversial food opinion: stop trying to make cabbage happen.
I’m cackling. 😂😂
I'm of Polish decent...it has a time and a place! But not as a food trend.
